Toine on WEEI

This was posted on the ESPN message boards. Not what any of us wanted to
hear:

"Yikes, did anybody else hear Antoine on WEEI?? He made some pretty biting
comments toward Pitino. He said he was really hurt by all the trade rumors,
and at one point in the summer, stopped following the team's workout advice
because he was so sure he was going to be shipped off. He also says that his
mom wanted him to leave Boston because everyone gets on him, but he said it
doesn't bother him at all and that he wants to stay in Boston. He also said,
that if he got traded, he would want to go to a good team such as Indiana.
He said he did not want to play for a team like Chicago or Detroit because
they are in the same situation as Boston and he would rather get it done in
Boston than go to another team in the same situation.

During the whole interview, antoine mantained that he has always been in
very good shape, and that he was not fat. He said that Pitino was making
excuse of Antoine being fat so he could justify trading him. He also said he
was * ed when he read Pitino's alleged comments to the campers about Antoine
not having a good workout routine. (another example that athletes do read
the paper and do listen to the radio). Antoine said that his natural
position is not power forward. he said he is more of a wing player and he is
a scorer. He said Pitino's comments of leaving the C's if they didnt make
the playoffs were not very smart, and he said everybody makes excuses when
teams are losing.

The worst part was that the clowns from WEEI (Glen Ordway, Fred Smerlas, and
Bill Bert), who all are not Pitino fans, were sort of egging antoine on, and
encouraging him to spill his mind. Antoine said that Pitino needs to call
him, and explain to him honestly why he was trying to trade him. It was a
very good interview, very interesting, it took about half an hour, and they
asked all of the right questions. i just wish they didn't so we all of this
stuff did not have to come out.....

If the Celtics start out poorly this year, and Pitino gets on Antoine, well
lets just say, Antoine Walker might not be a Cetlic much longer... "
