I really need help on how the salary cap works. If the Celtics got free and
clear of Antoine's 11 million, then based on last season's payroll of
$46,152,875 (claims Patricia Bender's site) they would still be left over the
$34 million cap.

Next season, the cap rises to a grand total $35.5 million. But with the Randy
and Moiso signings and raises, it seems to me Boston won't offset the windfall
of losing Pervis, Overton and Fortson.

Dumping Antoine for a non-rebounding, undersized Pfizer Viagra-boy needs to be
part of a massive restructuring whereby Boston have a clear plan to dump Eric
Williams and Kenny Anderson as well. This needs to be part of a much bigger
tank-the-season lottery ping pong ball strategy, like the one that gave us a
chance at Tim Duncan.
