Sure. To the right team. I'd want to lock up Croshere for a
long-term contract just bcause I think he'll probably only get
better. Mercer? Maybe for small money, a long-term wouldn't be
bad. Wahad? Same deal. I see what you're saying, that you don't
generally want to limit cap flexibility for a long (5-7 years) time,
but for a few teams (Portland, LA, NY come to mind), this doesn't
matter. The cap means nothing to these teams, and if you want to
really compete with them, the cap must mean nothing to you.

El Greaso got the better of the deal, that's for sure. I was hoping
he would have to deal PJ Brown for some stiff, but it wasn't to be.
At any rate PJ is better than "decent." In fact I'd say he was "very
good." And didn't Mashburn have a good year last year? I'm not
saying I want him on the team, but I wouldn't fit him for a leash or
get him a dog bowl just yet. (With what he's making, I'm sure the
bowl would need to be gold or encrusted with gems, or whatever,
anyway.) I'm pretty sure PJ and Mash will start for the Bugs.

Regards,

Bill
