Re: Radical Lineup

To throw a twist in the first idea, what about the lineup below instead? I
also threw in a couple notes about the players and what would have to happen
for this to work.

pg Antoine Walker - Get into excellent shape, practice three point shooting
all summer (ala Carter and Hill), become committed to defense.
sg Adrian Griffen - Get some rest, develop three point range, work on ball
handling.
sf Paul Pierce - Become more committed to defense (i.e. not slacking off).
pf Danny Fortson - Get into excellent shape, work on agility.
c PICK-A-CENTER - Potapenko, Battie, whoever. I think we should take a
look at Olumide from Nigeria and see if he is worth our lottery pick.

I threw in Adrian because he complements the starters so well and I really
believe all he needs is some time off and he'll be back better than ever.
The bench would consist of whoever we trade Kenny for (Charlie Ward?), a free
agent shooter (DAnderson or CMobley?), and the regulars probably.

Antoine on defense could be a major liability depending on who we play. I
remember someone mentioning that he did a decent job on Sam Cassell when
Walker moonlighted as Magic for his triple-double. Someone like Marbury
gives everyone trouble. We'd be better off adjusting the lineup for that
kind of occasion either putting DA or CM on him or start the backup point
guard.

Whatever happens, I don't think we'll be seeing Kenny as a Celtic next season
due to all of his recent whining about the team.

Pitino has said that Walker has Magic Johnson-like skills, so why
not utilize them? Walker has shown that he is capable of playing
 the point in the past.

As far as Battie is concerned, this is no knock on Potapenko. The
reasoning is that I believe we need Fortson to play a significant
role, and Battie's defensive presence down low will help make up
for Fortson's lack of height. >>
