Re: C's Draft Candidates

Like this post, I love to speculate about the draft. I am no expert, but
I'm pretty sure that I watch more college basketball than the majority of
people in this newsgroup, and I have seen these guys play. Here's my take
on some players:

Kenyon Martin and Marcus Fizer-most polished frontcourt players in the
draft, will make immediate impact on their teams, Martin is a great
rebounder and team player, does everything pretty well and developed a
nice midrange jumper this year

Pryzbilla-didn't see this guy this year, saw him a few times his freshman
year (last year) looked very raw and had next to no offensive game, I say
he's a project but he does have great size (7'1) and can block shots,
could end up being a real stiff like McIllvane, won't be worth a top 5
pick, could end up being pretty good but will never be an all-star, much
closer in style of play to Mutombo than McHale, he's nothing like McHale

Barkley-good college point, will do very little in the pros, short and
extremely thin, has trouble creating his own shot, good on the break and
running a team but a lot of questions in my mind

Peterson-he's not even close to where Finley was out of college, mainly a
spot up shooter and finisher, has a lot of trouble putting it on the
floor, very inconsistent shooer but when he's on he's lethal, I compare
him to a better Calbert Cheaney

Mike Miller-hopefully he doesn't come out, he's not ready, good all-around
player but doesn't really excel in any area, decent size and shooter, if
he stays another year or two he could really be good, as of now he's not
ready to make much of an impact in the NBA

Darius Miles-he will be an all-star somewhere down the line, the bad thing
is just waiting for him to develop (just like any other high school
player)

WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR, THE DRAFT IS GOING TO BE LOADED WITH GOOD FRONTCOURT
PLAYERS. I think we should take a guard this year.
