Textron Inc. Donates $15,000 to Boston Celtics Charitable Foundation




				
Hey Celt,

Boston -- The Boston Celtics today received a $15,000 donation from Textron Inc. at the Celtics vs. Washington Wizards game at the FleetCenter.  The presentation was made during a halftime ceremony in which Textron Director of Compensation Frank Brazell presented a check on behalf of the company to Celtics General Manager Chris Wallace.

Textron Inc.'s contribution will be allocated to the Boston Celtics Charitable Foundation and the Red Auerbach Youth Foundation in conjunction with the company's marketing partnership with the Celtics.

Providence-based Textron is among the world's largest and best performing multi-industry companies, well known for market-leading businesses of Bell Helicopter, Cessna Aircraft, E-Z GO golf cars, Textron Fastening Systems and Textron Automotive Company.

Boston Celtics General Manager Chris Wallace said, "We are extremely grateful to Textron for making an investment in the youth of our community through this generous donation."

The Boston Celtics Charitable Foundation serves as an umbrella organization for a number of the team's community outreach programs.  Among the myriad of activities that fall within the area are the Boston Celtics Stay in School Initiative; the Heroes Among Us program; the TeamUp program; and annual charitable events including the Tap-Off Dinner to benefit the Boston Celtics Youth Foundation; the annual Holiday Party for the children of Boston Medical Center's Sickle Cell Unit; holiday visits to Children's Hospital; and the Rock with the Jocks Fundraiser.

The Red Auerbach Youth Foundation, established in 1985, is dedicated to enriching the lives of inner-city children through sports-related programs and activities.  Current programming includes the Red Auerbach Freshman & Sophomore Developmental Track Meet; the Red Auerbach All-State Track Meet; the Red Auerbach Youth Foundation Summer Camp Program; the Massachusetts State Free Throw Championship and the Red Auerbach Youth Foundation Double Dutch Jump Rope Tournament.
