Pitino Says (4) Stuff About Kenny, Eric Washington, Eric Williams....

Pitino on with Scott Cordischi said:

On Kenny Anderson: Needs to pass first before shooting and play defense
off the ball. When Anderson told him, he was going to spend time
in the weight room this summer, Pitino said to forget that and
work on his conditioning, which Anderson did by hiring a track
coach.

Pitino's major problem with Anderson has been that he's brittle,
but he's not worried as much about that now with Wayne Turner here.

Eric Washington - Pitino wasn't sure he'd make the club, said he
was basically a throw-in in the Mercer deal, a trade where he got
100 cents on the dollar. Not only did the C's get a potential
lottery pick, but if Mercer was still here, they wouldn't have
signed Cheaney, who decided at 4:30 AM in the morning to turn
down a more lucrative Miami sign and trade deal for the Celtics
offer.

Pitino is now a "big fan" of Eric Williams, who brings to the
team an ability to get to the foul line, something that was lacking
from last seasons' club. Williams learned his life's "lessons"
in Denver, and when Pitino spoke to his agent about him rejoining
the Celtics, Williams was enthused.

And the Mercer trade added a real "depth lift" to the Celtics...
