I think this is because of the base year salary restrictions that affects both players. N N Celts, Nets considering exchange of forwards? Southampton, PA (TSN) - Are the Boston Celtics and New Jersey Nets contemplating an exchange of forwards in the near future? The Sports Network has learned that sources close to the situation say the Celtics would ship Antoine Walker to the Nets in exchange for Keith Van Horn at the conclusion of the 1999-2000 season. According to a source close to the Celtics, personal differences have created a rift between the 24-year-old Van Horn and star Jersey point guard Stephon Marbury. The Celtics, heading into Sunday at 6-4, have seen the 6-foot-9 Walker average 19.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game this season. Meanwhile, the struggling Nets (1-9) are getting 18.4 points and 1.8 boards per contest from the 6-foot-10 Van Horn, the former University of Utah star. The 23-year-old Walker also starred for Celtics head coach Rick Pitino at the University of Kentucky. 11/21 15:00:39 ET
