Re: thinking about Ron

I don't know. Why would any team trade for a free
agent? Plus, Ron might have a bad season. The main
reason to trade is to GUARANTEE the playoffs, with
help from some veteran. I would be happy if Ron and
Tony stayed, certainly, because I am such a big
believer in Tony as a power forward, and Antoine at
three gives you a big advantage in rebounding at that
position. Pitino has already addressed this need, but
it sure looks like we can't count on Popeye. Amazing
as it is to think, help might come from Pervis
Ellison, a shot-blocker and rebounder off the bench,
or maybe from a Terry Cummings/Herb Williams/Frank
Brickowski type guy. We have all our main talent.
What we need now is chemistry and key contributions.
On the whole, for all his limitations, it would be a
shame to lose Ron, with his great size and speed and
shot, for a 4 who's not that big an upgrade over Tony.
The more I think about this, the more wary I am of a
trade. Of course, Master P might force the issue.
