Bulpett also notes that the C's will explore trade possibilities with
Tony Battie, if they have problems re-signing him. He also
said Chuck Person sent word to Pitino via a reporter that he would
play for the $2 million option.

In other news, Paul Pierce is staying in the area, having purchased a
condo, and is "getting into Boston." Pierce hopes the Bruins continue
to play on in the playoffs, because he's never been to a hockey game
and wants to see one.

And GM Chris Wallace wants the undergraduates to stay in school to lessen
the value of this year's pick and make the C's own choice next year
stronger.

So very interesting news on Mitch Richmond. A little old, but if the C's
could acquire him for Battie (instead of Mercer) and others and then move
Mercer for a quality power forward. Hmmmm....
