Pitino the Dictator-YES

I don't know who the clown was that wrote that Pitino is too
authoritarian, but the truth of the matter is that the players are like
children under 18 years of age, they have zero rights. All a coach owes
a player is respect, other than that he has to be the dictator in
complete control, especially with young players. Remember, Larry Bird's
first coach in the pro's was Bill Fitch, not exactly Mr Nice Guy
(McHales favorite coach). Bird said on many occasions that Fitch was a
great coach who ran the team with an iron fist and that the team was
better for it. He made Parrish, Tiny, Ford all winners who all came from
losing teams to win a championship. If a coach wants to win, it cannot
be a democracy, he must be in total control.
