These statements seem a little contradictory to me. In the first Holley says
Pitino needs someone to overule his decisions. In the second Holley
criticizes him for being overuled.
Is Holley applying for this all-knowing position? What are HIS
qualifications? If Pitino started off on a losing streak (as a GM/Personnel
Man) I'd say that he's turned it around this season with the Battie trade and
the Potapenko trade. The other moves - Riley, Schintzius, Garnett - are
throwaways anyhow. That's what you get when you try to find gold in the
scrap yard. The Popeye signing & McCarty extension don't mean a thing
(except to Gaston) since we are too far over the cap now anyway. If either
player does prove valuable at any time in the future, however, they can be
traded for an equal amount of salary. (Stranger things have happened - both
Minor & Barros look tradeable now).

As for those who still criticize trading our pick along with DeClercq for
Potapenko, I'd trade next year's pick away along with Anderson if I could
make the same degree of improvement at point guard as well.
