Pitino: I Can't Figure This Team Out

Listening to his Post-Game conference, Pitino
killed the idea of bringing Pierce off the
bench next season - was very snappy with a reporter
who suggested that next season, Battie should start at
power forward and Antoine at the 3; said Battie had a 
long way to go defensively, and thought Pierce would
skedaddle when his contract was up, if he was the sixth
man.  

Pitino also commented on the fact that the C's immaturity
shows -- exhibited by a lack of defense -- when things aren't
going well offensively.  Comment could have been directed toward
Mercer (9-20 for 21 points; but Ray Allen had 26) or Pierce (5-18).  

In other news, Leo Papile said Chris Herren would be the
third senior point guard taken, going somewhere between
18 and 29 in the first round, and that Herren was the best point
guard at the Phoenix Desert Classic.
