I don't think Pitino is doing anything new here, almost every coach does it
prime examples being Riley, Carlesimo etc. Riley in particular is almost
always gesturing getting his offense/defense  in the right formation. I
think the whole team has lost its confidence and basically doesn't believe
that it can win close games.

The bench contribution is the main culprit here. Other than Battie and
Barros to a certain extent there is no-one doing anything off the bench. I
anticipate a major rehaul next year. Personally I would like to see Popeye,
Garnett, Bowen, Barros, Anderson and McCarty go. - Mishra
