hi all,
my two cents.
this is pitino's fault. the players have the talent and stamina to play
celtics basketball but the coach is not in control of the team. they need
to get back to the basics of man-to-man defense, rebounding and run run
run. they need to stop this foolish high school press and learn to defend
their goal. rebounding can be taught. running is obviously a style most of
the players can handle. this formula works (rafters baby !) and the
greatest "assistant coach" of all is sitting just above pitino on the
celtics organizational chart. if success is a choice then it is time for
coach to set aside what obviously doesn't work and choose another path to
success. the time to change is now, when the rest of the season can be
played on the home court and confidence in a new sysytem can be built.
c'mon rick, admit you're wrong and choose to succeed.
one other point. maybe pierce is a victim of the old adage "family is
family". maybe he can't get the ball because pitino, walker and mercer
don't have enough shots to share with an outsider. this would be a
frightening thought but it might explain how you go from rookie of the
month to a shove toward the injured list in just a few weeks. this of
course would also be pitino's fault. i wish i could hear from rick,
himself, on these subjects.
always a c's fan
