Re: Terrible Game Plan!!!!!!!!

What Pitino might have said was " Force the man baseline and cut him off
to eliminate his options." However, we are giving up the baseline and
not cutting anyone off. Therefore, without a consistent shot blocker or
someone to take a charge, we are getting burnt!

When a team does not play great man to man defense. The offensive player
should never be forced baseline. He should be forced to the middle where
there is help. When I see a Celtic on defense I watch his feet. After
three dribbles by the offensive player, we start to use our hands.
Once the hands are used, we have a foul or the guy goes by for a layup.

If you have any doubt about my comments watch the Duke Blue Devils play
defense. I am not a Duke fan. However, I think Duke plays the best man
fundamentals in the nation. Even when they were not competing for the
championship the defensive fundamentals were there.

I agree the team needs time to come together. However, there is no
excuse for a lack of a half court offense. I can not see us getting any
better as long as Walker is playing in current role as point power
forward. This young team needs some direction.
