Standard Times Jonathan Comey On The Celtics And The Potapenko Deal

"If you're worried about the Celtics, don't be.

"Although they are currently 7-12 and five games back of the
playoff pack, there are two key things to remember. First,
there is no pressure to make the playoffs this year, and second,
they have played thirteen road games and six at home.

"When the schedule becomes kinder, the Celts' youth will become
more of an advantage than an handicap and their record will
snap back toward .500.

"As far as the trade that brought center Vitaly Potapenko
to the celtics, time will tell. Potapenko is a legitimate
center (6-10, 280) and has a decent offensive game, but giving up
a first-round pick that could wind up in the top 10 is a little
scary. Losing Andrew DeClercq is a shame, because he was as
hard-working as they come and fun to watch flail around the court.

"But if Potapenko turns out to be any good, the Celtics probably
got the better end of the deal."
