State of the Team

Walker did have an unproductive 4th quarter in the Pistons game. No
one else stepped up either. Just remember a) we were on the road, and
b) we are still forming our identity as a team.
One essential aspect for young players to learn the system is
consistency. The Celtics have had little consistency this year due to
injury. McCarty, Mercer, and now Pierce have all been hurt. We've also
added a scorer (Pierce) and a mountain (VP). This team needs time
together to learn their roles and become cohesive.
I find the squabbles on the court between our guys a good sign.
Conflict between the members of a group is the first stage of forming
group cohesion. We'll also start to see some leaders emerge on the
floor. Once the team members find their niches in this system, we'll
start seeing more wins on the road. We'll probably see the best
basketball by this team this year around the first of April. Since
these guys are streaky, they are likely to pull off 5-6 wins in a
row.

Go C's!! .500 or better!!!
