Now...that was better.

In Holley's article Pitino said something about "playing that way and we
can beat the teams we just lost to,"...yes? I agree. If there's a loss you
can live with as the coach, and fan, of a very young team...that's it. All
I ask of Pitino and this team is that they don't have confused, helpless,
and scared looks on their faces for three out of the four quarters of a
game. I've always thought that for a very young team, the third quarter
belongs to the coach. He has to make adjustments at the half...he has to
make sure they keep their heads in it during the half...and he has to make
further adjustments, quickly, when the half starts. The end of the game
belongs to the stars...to players who make plays...and players who make
shots. I know none of this is terribly "insightful" but hey...it's
basketball...I'll talk postmodern culture off-list. Anyway...I fully expect
young players/teams to blow leads in the fourth quarter of games because
they don't know how to turn up the intensity and keep their
heads....consistently, especially on the road. But...if they keep playing
the way they did last night...this team can win more than they lose. (Did I
just write that?)
