Come on, people, it's just some kid (in terms of either chronological or
mental age) playing games. Where's the parental supervision these days? :))

Yeah, right. WCAL a radio station in LA? FYI, it's a college music station at
St. Olaf's, an evangelical Lutheran college in Minnesota sticks. Reporting on
Clippers-Celtics trades should be about the last thing on the DJ's mind there.
Besides, how would the prankster listen in to the dinky outfit, given the fact
his spurious posts originated in Armonk, NY? Not to mention the fact that such
a trade as reported could not work because of a mismatch in salaries, or a
good bet that not even the Clips would be stupid enough to trade MT and LW for
an un-re-signed (sic!) Mercer and assorted flotsam (I like Riley, but he can't
be a full-time contributor at this point).

In all, a poorly done hoax that worked on some because it delivered exactly
what these people were pining for. Me, I'd rather keep the New Big Three (NBT)
and go the FA/draft/development route. IMO, there are very few players worth
trading one+ of the NBT for, and such trades almost surely will not happen. A
significant part of the enjoyment derived from watching the Celtics for me has
to do with the team's unique and attractive personality, defined by the NBT
and people like DeClercq, Barros, Bowen and McCarty. I'd rather win less with
Mercer & Co. than more with someone like the Oakland (now New York) Strangler,
his crotch-grabbing teammate LJ, or that epitome of JailBlazerness, Isiah Rider.
