I think Phil Jackson in LA is an
interesting story for a variety of
reasons and I look forward to watching
it unfold knowing that there are many
probable - yet opposite - routes it
could travel.

I don't expect Phil to use the triangle
offense in LA. Phil was smart enough to
implement an offense that brought the
best out of Jordan as well as
incorporating the whole team. The
triangle is well designed for a player
like Jordan (and Pippen). In LA, the
player skill sets are different and it
will be interesting to see what offense
Jackson will implement to take full
advantage of it. Do you, for instance,
turn Shaq into a weakside player and let
Kobe slash his way to the basket,
forcing weakside defensive help which
frees up Shaq for an easy pass or
rebound and saves him from getting
pounded on all game? It will be
interesting and for a creative person
like Jackson, I believe the project was
too tempting to turn down.
