To answer your questions last first

1.  I think that the Mercer/s. Walker trade is part
one -- Pitino by clearing salary and roster space is
fixing up for a big FA signing or trade.

2.  Teams can't trade their picks in subsequent years,
so this wouldn't be until at least 2001.  Don't worry,
the Mavs will still suck.
