Input from the Midwest

I've been lurking for a while but have had a thought or two:

-Has anyone thought of what our two so-called undersized, lightning
quick (for PFs), less than bruising power forwards, Walker and Battie,
might be like in an NBA that may put the brakes on clutching and shoving in
the paint? It seems that these proposed rule changes could accentuate
their strengths and lessen their weakneses.
-I'm in favor of signing Samaki. Note that I said signing, not
trading for. There's not much in Dallas I'd trade Mercer for. Now McCarty
or Pervis for Samaki might be another story.
-Josh's remarks on the proposed and much bastardized 3-way deal for
Baker included several good points. For my two cents worth, I'm very much
for the trade if it "only" involves Mercer plus others. . .but the others
can't include Battie--I don't even want to mention the ludicrous "Walker
AND Mercer" version. I've come to accept that Pitino is not loved on this
list or in Boston (to my disapppointment) but give the man some credit,
please.
-How did we let Toronto get away with stealing Antonio for that kid
from Mississippi? We couldn't make a better offer? Can you think of a
more ideal PF solution to our so-called problems? He was THE #1 on my wish
list this offseason and I found myself wondering, "is he worth giving up
Mercer for?" Apparently we could have had him for much less. A Tragedy.
-With all the above being factored in, I'm coming to my own
conclusion that we'd be best served staying put, maturing, and allowing our
young talent blend and blossom together while the league ages around us
rather than rushing to artificially age our team. Ever notice how people
just want change for the sake of change itself, rather than for real
progress? 1992 comes to mind. . .

Sorry I took up so much of your time.
