Player evaluations so far in FILA summer league play (fwd)

Here's some more opinions on the players from the Fila tournament.
I saw the Lakers and Clippers games.

Paul Pierce. No he doesn't look lighter or quicker(for a possible 2 guard
role), but still dominated from the 3 spot.

Adrian Griffin. Not as high on him as others on this list. He's built
like a young Ricky Pierce(powerful, looks shorter than 6-5), low upside
athletically. But he gets off his Eric Williams type shots, takes the
bumps and still finishes(may have trouble against legit players).

Instead, we need a Jon Barry type 2 guard who can spread
the floor and help distribute instead of another scorer.
Or a Derek Anderson type because
Kentucky defense needs 2 good pressure guards (Kenny, and Ron are
fairly weak at this. Turner, Chauncey, Derek Anderson are excellent at
it). I agree with Chris Littlefield on the team's needs.

Wayne Turner. Devastating in the press. Bad
shooter, doesn't take any above the top of the key. I think he displays
more smarts and poise running a C's offense than Garnett/Jones/Anderson
has. - A Keeper

Kevin Ollie. Very quick and athletic on finishes, but doesn't seem like
a better passer/shooter than Damon Jones. Looks confident taking wide
open 3's.

Bruce Bowen. Griffin, and Clack played hungrier (And I'm a Bowen fan).
Didn't start locking people up till the press was called.

Marlon Garnett. Should be worried that there are 4 better point guards
that will try out for the C's

Bryant Smith. They must have invited him for his great athleticism (built
like Sprewell or Mercer), but no 2 guard instincts, jumper, or NBA
confidence.

Tony Battie. Dominated, talked some trash.

Kris Clack. Give it to him on the wing, and he can finish like JR Rider,
hit some open 3's. I'd keep him over Minor or Griffin.

Antoine Hyman. Plays like a 6'9" shotblocker with no power, not really
what we need.

Walter McCarty. Got some improved jumpers and boards in the flow of the
game against scrubs, but still doesn't post up, create his own shot or
fill the wings well on the break. You would think he should run the break
like Camby, Rahim or Horry used to do it. Seems soft on offense.

Vitally Potapenko. Plays like Radja on offense, and unfortunatly on
defense too. If he doesn't get to body up his man to knock him off
balance, he doesn't challenge shots well after that. Maybe I'm biased and
want a Parish type defender, but Vitally gives up ALOT of open shots
against horrible centers.

Other players of note: The C's old draft pick Andre Fetisov played for
the Bucks I think. He looks as tall and plays as soft as Tony Kuckoc. Is
slow afoot.

GM's of note: Elgin Baylor and Chris Ford was at the C's/Clippers, and
Seemed to be taking note of Bowen and Battie even off the ball.
Might not have meant anything.
