Scintillating News From Bulpett And May

It rained today - That's about as much excitement as was generated
by Bulpett's and May's Sunday NBA columns. Let's see: The Celtics
have a big interest in signing Tony Delk as a free agent - You would
think he's from Kentucky or something.... But seriously, it would
certainly
seem to increase the likelihood of a Barros to Nuggets trade or anywhere
else, since you don't need both Delk and Barros.

Other news: The C's have not tended Damon Jones a new contract, but
don't despair, no one else will either, and Pitino and Wallace want to
see how well he plays in the summer league before wasting the cap space.

Other other news: Chris Wallace really likes Jonathan Bender, and he's
happy the Celtics made the Potapenko trade. Filling the center position
was more important than ending up with Andre Miller.

Other other other news: The C's are going slowly on re-signing both
Mercer
and Battie and may wait till next year to sign them, because Pitino
feels
all the other clubs will be above the cap. I'm not sure if this is
true.
I think Chicago will still have a good chunk of cap change left, and I
read somewhere that the Mavs will be way under the cap. But of course,
Pitino being Pitino, you can't take his pronoucements too seriously....
