RE: Mercer for Shandon and Quincy Lewis...

He does? Does Shandon Anderson have that much more potential? From what I've
seen of Shandon's game I've seen a great complimentary player. He's a good
post-up player for his size, he's got a passable outside shot, he cuts to
the basket well without the ball and he's a great defender. But is that the
potential to be better than mercer? While mercer doesn't have Anderson's
physique or 3 point shot yet, I would argue that he has just as much
potential as Shandon. Mercer is great coming off screens, he goes well to
the basket with the ball(most of the time) and in the Jazz system he could
be just as good of a defender as Anderson. The reason Shandon looks better
is the Jazz's system.
Just look at the Jazz, other than Malone all of their talent is flawed, old
or second rate. Would Greg Ostertag or Jeff Hornacek and especially Greg
Foster be of any use to any other teams in the league? The Jazz are one of
few teams where the whole of the team outweighs the sum of the parts. Take
Anderson out of the Jazz's spacing and ball movement and you could very well
have another Greg Minor with a little more athleticism who cuts to the
basket.
