8 pick for VP

Value is in the eye of the beholder. As we now can use some hindsight to 
evaluate the VP for the 8 pick, I first wouldn't trade VP for Miller straight 
up if offered. However, several other approaches to determine value can be 
used. Antonio Davis was traded for the 5 pick. I would trade VP for Antonio 
Davis straigtht up. Ho Grant was essentially traded for the 13 pick. I would 
not trade VP for Ho Grant straight up. The 10 pick was worth Mookie and the 
21 pick. Again, I wouldn't trade VP for that combo. Therefore, it seems VP's 
value could fall between the 5 and 10. However, I and Pat Riley think the 
Pacers screwed up in trading Davis for Bender, at least short term. I 
wouldn't trade VP for Wally or for the supposed combo of Knight and Derek 
Anderson. 

However, we had the 8 pick, not the 5 or even 6 pick. Therefore, I don't 
think there should be any doubt that we did well in our trade for VP...
