Crap.

Here it is:

TORONTO (Ticker) -- The Toronto Raptors added a needed big body to their
frontcourt today
when they signed former Sacramento Kings
forward-center Michael Stewart to a one-year, $1
                          million contract.

A spokeswoman for Stewart's agent, Bill Duffy,
confirmed the deal, which could become official
at any time, since the NBA lockout officially ended
at 2 p.m. EST.

Stewart, 23, received the team's $1 million salary
cap exception. As per the new collective
bargaining agreement, teams receive a $1 million
exception and $1.75 million exception.

The Toronto Globe and Mail reported that the $1.75
million exception could be used to retain guard
Alvin Williams, who was acquired from the Portland
Trail Blazers in the Damon Stoudamire deal
                          last season.

The Boston Celtics were hoping to sign the
shot-blocking Stewart, a former Kings ballboy who
stands to gain a large salary increase and a
long-term deal with the Raptors next year after playing
for an otherwise small salary this season.

[I think this is the real key here. Toronto obviously has a wink-wink CHris
Dudley deal to pay him a load next year when they go way under the cap.]

Stewart missed only one game with the Kings last
season. He was eighth in the NBA with 2.4
blocks per game and averaged 4.6 points and 6.6
rebounds while shooting 48 percent from the
field. However, he is just a 46 percent free-throw
shooter.
