| I noticed from the box scores that Kobe Bryant had 21, Jones and 21 and
| O'Neal had 29, but all the headlines do is talk about Bryant. I wonder
| if his teammates are as sick of the media trying to make Kobe the star
| as I am?

Here's why:

25pt 10rb
16pt 12rb
19pt 10rb
21pt 10rb

Plus, he makes it look so good -- the kid always has at least one
unbelievable move per game.

Also, he's learning fast, he's articulate, young, good-looking,
charismatic, intelligent, he's not a big man, and he's a Laker. Who
else is going to the star in the league?

O'neal and Grant Hill have already blown their chances.

Anyway, it's good to have a star in the league, and it would be good
to have the old Celtics-Lakers rivalry back, which seems more likely
than it has in the past 10 years.

We've been lucky and smart enough to be able to assemble this group of
players, considering the restrictions of the cap -- over the next 3 or
4 years, I think we've got the best foundation of any team in the
East, when we take into account Pitino.

Strange as it may seem, I think our main competition will be the Nets
and the Bucks; Indiana and New York are old teams on their last
hurrah.
