Here's a name from the past:

"Eric Montross grabbed 14 rebounds as the Pistons rallied for a 107-98 win
over the Indiana Pacers
on Sunday. In their 95-81 win at Miami on Friday
night, Montross didn't even
                          play.

"There are certain teams that are very athletic, and
we can't
use him against them," Pistons coach Alvin Gentry
said of
Montross. "But against big guys like Rik Smits, he can
                          help us."

You know, I was not a big fan of acquiring Dwayne Schintzius, but it strikes
me there is a parallel here. Nobody should expect DS to be able to play in a
full-court system; he is basically a specialist, a guy to bring in when we're
playing those banging Eastern Conference teams with Ewing, Geiger et al
inside. Those guys will simply push Riley out of the paint; Schintzius at
least gives us a big body to lean on them. Let's not expect him to do anything more.
