Re: Adrian Griffin

The answer imho on whether or not John Stockton is a superstar;

He is better than a lot of superstars skill wise, but, he is not a superstar.

If you conclude that a superstar is defined by skills and teamwork only then yes,
John Stockton ranks amongst the top superstars of all time, but, on the other
hand as you alluded to if you play in a smaller market, dont get rushed by the
media for every opportunity and are not on ESPN highlights a handful times per
game then you're not a superstar.

Stockton is a hall-of-famer, thats a given. He is the All-Time assists and steals
leader; one of very few point guards who will be remembered for leading their
teams to victory; he wont be remembered for his flash, for his interviews or his
commercials. That is what a superstar is; in effect I would say that in todays
world Antoine Walker is a better superstar than Stockton for it is Antoine whose
comments are readilly available for reading and listening, for it is Antoine who
makes the shoe commericals and for it is Antoine Walker whom owns the marketed
nickname of "Employee #8".

Thats just my opinion.
