Re: Assistant coach
I agree that the substitution pattern was much better in the second half.
There was no disruptions as the substituting was done in the flow. In
addition, Dana's second half minutes were minimized and when he was in there,
he was with the starters. This will minimize his damage to the team. Also,
O'Brien just gave Pierce a 2 minute blow in the second half. He was leading
the team and he needed to get back in there...As to Walker, I didn't see the
contributions that Bill did. He did make one critical steal of Mashburn at a
critical point in the game. He raised down the floor but it was 2 on 3. The
Heat knew he was going to try to score on this one because everyone knows the
way Walker is so they, all three, converged on him leaving the other Celtic
open on the wing. Somehow, Walker still threw it up and slopped it in. With
Walker, it is all on instinct and nothing on design. Normally, like other
times in the game, his wild shots don't go. This one did at a critical time.
As the Celts executed their half court offense late in the fourth quarter,
the Celts did have the ball in Walker's hands quite abit. He made one nice
drive and hoop. But that was about it. The rest was just a normal start of
the offense. Pierce was the man in this game with his defense and offensive
aggressiveness....
