Re: Larry Hughes

Not according to Bill's report, which I am much more inclined to believe
than a large % of the reactionary comments I read on this list. From Bill,
I get the sense that Toine played a very good game, a very smart game by
driving, waiting for the defense to collapse on him and kicking the ball out
to the open man. That is team basketball, which, at a previous time, was
the essence of Celtic basketball.

So make fun of him, chastize him for selfishness, chide him for not having
superb stats. But I am seeing a player who, despite the weaknesses he still
has, is working at providing what this team needs from him in order to win.
His free throw percentage has improved and he still has a way to go before
satisfying my taste, but it is evident that he has been working on it. His
3 point percentage has improved from when he entered the league. Now his
overall field goal percentage needs improvement. I see no reason why it
won't and his comments about not worrying about it, I translate as he
intends to work on improving them as he has the other areas. This guy is
still a kid. Younger than Van Horn.
