Re: Pitino and Cousy

Dorine,

I don't think there is much doubt about the fact that Mr. Forant Sr gets his jollies by trying to invoke as much ire as he can.  I personally take what he says with a grain of salt.  Imagine him, of all people, chastizing someone like the Cooz, for having the guts to tell it like it is or call the play as he sees it.  From his posts, one would think Mr. Forant Sr would have some appreciation for honesty instead of looking for faults which have nothing to do with the outcome of the game.

I wouldn't worry too much about responding to his posts.  Your thoughts are very much appreciated AFAIC.  Can't say the same about Mr. Forant Sr.

Whether or not Cousy was a good coach, and I think he admits he wasn't, he has as much right to criticize Pitino as we do, and many of us have, whether we like him or not.  Maybe you're happy to see Couz go, but many of us are not.  Please respect that we respect Cousy as a player and as a color man or whatever you wish to call it.  For my money, he was one of the greatest to ever play the game, and the best at his position, bar none.  Do you say those things just to start an argument?  I'll not say any more about it because Cousy's earned the right (to anyone who calls themselves a Celtics fan) to say whatever he thinks about the game he loves and has excelled at.  He says it publicly, too - and many of us respect that as well as many other things about him.  He's one of a special few among many who were great Celtic players.  I will miss him.

C'mon Cous openly negatively discussed on the air Pitino's coaching habits.
Like Cous was a good coach. Cous bit the hand that fed him. Enjoy his 10
games this season. This is his swan song.
