The Hits Keep On Coming

Dave D'Alessandro in the Sporting News has graded the NBA teams
offseason moves, and said this about the Celtics:

Boston. This just in: Rick Pitino has decided the past two years
were a waste of time. Grade: D.

The Celtics weren't alone in the bad mark (D)epartment, as they were
joined by Indiana - Lost their best big man; Chicago - $20 million
saved but no Duncan coming; New Jersey - Muresan arrives, Seikally
departs;
Orlando - Years of misery.

The C's did grade out better than Dallas, Utah and Houston, who all
received a F.....

But they were surpassed by clubs like Denver = B+, and a major upgrade
with Mercer and McCloud (Yup, should get them from 5th to 8th
in the lottery, and then they can look forward to handing over
next year's first to Orlando, and the following year's pick to
Boston); Miami: That big Otis Thorpe acquisition got them a B-;
New York: John Wallace = C; Phoenix = A; Portland = A+; San Antonio
receives a B, for that big Terry Porter signing; Washingto = B,
for Austin (Actually, that was a pretty good move); Lakers maintained
the status quo and received a C; Mookie gave the Worriers a B-;
The Pistons got a B, for bringing Michael Curry back... and so on.
