Greg Minor Cap Relief - Since Greg Minor was injured between
December 1 and June 30th, if the League Physician determines that
he will miss the entire 1999 - 2000 season, the C's will have
until October 1st to sign a replacement player at half of Minor's
1998 - 1999 salary, which means about $1.2 million could be available.

Contract Deadline - If the C's want to sign Battie, Eric Washington,
or Fortson to extensions, they have to do it before Octrober 31.
I thought it was October 1st, but it's the 31st. After that time,
no signings can take place until August 1st, when they're all eligible
to become free agents.  So, at least Pitino will have some training
camp time to check out Fortson and Washington.
