Re: Battie the Key

When asked about his slow frontcourt of Fortson, VP,
and Antoine, Pitino rather truculently asked, "who
says that's going to be my starting frontcourt?"
which supports this theory. I also think he wants
Antoine and everybody else to know that starting is
not anybody's birthright.

I'm breathing a little easier about the trade. Pitino
seems to be pissed off, but coping. I don't see him
fuming in public about Antoine if he was just about to
trade him, and I think he knows Antoine's value as an
asset too well. That deal might have been struck in a
haste before Denver came through with their Monty
Haul, but now Pitino understands that he has only one
prime time scorer besides Antoine, and not a very
tough-minded one at that.
