It was bound to happen, but so quickly?  The internet has taken over.  Bill
Gates bought out the NBA, and replaced the team with internet newsgroups.
One such group, is the "Boston Celtics@igtc.com". 

They have been at the vanguard of the new teams, having taken over the
Fleet Center, and begun practicing there.  The players are not used to
working together without a computer, so each team member is communicating
with portables using voice command.

So far, they have been impressive on the court, but their post game
summaries are a wonder to behold. They may well usher in a new era in
sports reporting.

The only flea in the ointment is the short kid with the big nose who barks
a lot and keeps biting opposing players, leading them to wonder if Tree
Rollins has been reincarnated.  However, his teammates remain marginally
tolerant of him, possibly due to the truckloads of Mrs. Fields chocolate
chip cookies delivered daily as part of the collective bargaining agreement.

They've yet to set up a formal schedule, but the rumor is they might take
on "Ex-NBA millionaires in doghouse.com" in their first public game.  

If the other teams are as interesting as this, no one will remember the
lockout back in 1998 that ended with the Great Fan Rebellion which
bankrupted the old NBA.>>
