Re: Walker trades

I hope this is true, I thought I understood that too and posted, awhile ago,
that it would solve our problem with Antoine. I think the owners should not
be held up like that by young players who are largely unproven, or still
raw. In the case of Pitino & Walker, I have no idea whether or not they
like each other, it could be a case of two huge egos bouncing off each
other. Pitino wants to be obeyed like a parent, and Antoine thinks he's
already at the top. At least they are talking, the two sides in the
artitration. Perhaps there's still hope of salvaging the season. Like
everyone else I like the playoffs, but I enjoy the reglar season too and
have never felt it was too long. Right now, though, I'm losing more
interest daily. Most years I'd be chomping at the bit.

One other thing, though, while I'm at it. There have been many posts about
the players having short careers in which to make money. I don't agree with
that - it might have been true at one time, but face it, fellas and girls,
any of these players that are respected as basketball players still have a
second career in front of them when they get through with the NBA. They
become color men on radio or TV, the coach at other levels or in the NBA,
etc., or they go into business and don't forget those books they write!
They won't starve, believe me, if they're any good to begin with.
