Well, at least for this season, it appears Antoine isn't going
anywhere or is it the typical Pitino double-speak? Only time will tell
gentle
readers. Only time will tell......

Ongoing labor dispute hasn't locked out Pitino
By Will McDonough, Globe Columnist, 10/03/98
They are all dressed up with no place to go. Every workday, Rick Pitino
and his staff gather at the Celtics' downtown office and go over the
practice schedules, knowing there is not going to be any practice. As crazy as
it might seem, Pitino and his staff go through all of their preparations just
as though the players were in the locker room ready to go. But there are no
players - and no practices - because of the NBA lockout.
Pitino told fans at the annual Red Auerbach golf tournament this week that his
staff keeps everything up and running so it can swing into action as soon as
the lockout is over. The Celtics even have a lineup of free agents they are
ready to court. It seemed evident from his remarks that Pitino plans to have
Antoine Walker, Ron Mercer, Kenny Anderson, and rookie Paul Pierce carry his
club this year, and is looking for a big man to put in the middle.
