Vin Baker

Hey all,

If the Celtics are desperate to trade Walker, how about using the
suggestions that you said and trade him to the Sonics with our cap
burdens..

No superstar is likely to go to the Sonics because theres already too
much limelight spent on the likes of Payton (a real star of the league
imo!)..

The Sonics have *alot* of space under the cap to work out a deal with
the Celts, something like $9 mil...

To the Sonics
Antoine Walker $2,216,000
Dana Barros $3,500,000
Greg Minor $2,520,000
Pervis Ellison $2,420,000
Travis Knight $2,400,000
Total Salary $13,056,000

To the Celtics
Vin Baker $4,264,000
Total Salary $4,264,000

Add the $4,500,000 that the Celtics have originally in free agency with
the $8,792,000 that is created from this trade and the Celtics have
$13,292,000 to spend on free agents with this roster as a starting
point..

  C: DeClercq
PF: Baker / McCarty
SF: Pierce / Bowen
SG: Mercer / Jones
PG: Anderson /

I'd say get a starting center (Theo Ratliff? Ike Austin?), a backup
power forward (Jones?) to play McCarty as a utility, a backup shooting
guard and a backup point guard..

Center free agents
Ike Austin - will leave the Clips
Vlade Divac - will re-sign
Luc Longley - A top passing center, but no loyalty.
Stanley Roberts -- Too old and injury prone and top heavy
Arvydas Sabonis -- Will re-sign
Clifford Robinson -- A classic choker
Loy Vaught -- Someone to consider if cheap
Theo Ratliff -- A great leaper
Matt Geiger -- A head case?

You could even consider playing Baker full time at center and acquiring
another forward like Tom Gugliotta or Derrick 'head case' Coleman to add
another center piece..
