A way to stop the lockout

Hi,

Someone wrote this to a magazine which I am associated with and got some
good feedback from the staff. It basically goes on with what some of you
have been suggesting.

Salary structure..

Anything up to 14 players affect the cap. None of those 14 are allowed
to have a contract greater than three years or get more than $7.5
million per season, the minimum is $500,000. The cap would be
$25,000,000.

The maximum amount of minimum paid players per team is 5 (the 3 on the
injury reserve and the 2 on the end of the bench).

Then theres one 'superstar' player whose allowed to sign for whatever
the team is willing to pay them. The player is allowed to have a maximum
contract length of 8 seasons.

So that is ...

Superstar - salary not affecting cap - $whatever over 7.5 mil.

$7.5 mil maximum through to $500,000 (times 5 players)

What do you guys think?!
