re:Dirk Diggler

Hi List:

Maybe someone out there has already mentioned it, but the 6-11 German
teen Dirk Nowitzki apparently has declared for the NBA Draft (but has
not hired an agent and thus might still attend Berkeley) according to
ESPNET. I don't even know what he looks like, but TSN's Brick Oettinger
has rated him ahead of Rashard Lewis and Al Harrington ever since Dirk
burned them for 33 in the Hoop Summit game. Does the number "33" sound
propitious? I'm sure Chris Wallace will be giving him a close look (as
will David Falk et al).

IMO, since this is going to be the Celts last chance at a lotto pick (I
hope), maybe we should roll the dice and nab one of these three 6-10
teens, any of whom mighy have developed into a number-one-overall-type
pick within a few years. Please remember that the majority of NHL
players, tennis pros and World Cup soccer stars never set foot near a
college campus. I for one would not be scandalised if Messrs. Lewis,
Harrington, Young and Odom choose to forgo a couple of years of frat
parties and basket-weaving classes.
