Why I love "Mick"

Hi everyone:

For what it's worth, my take on Walter McCarty's problem is that his
foot speed is actually even quicker than his hand-eye coordination
(which is not too shabby either). IMO, that's what makes him act like a
spaz sometimes. If he actually slows down his spin moves, he might be
more effective and get much better style points.

Maybe sometimes Walter's general run-and-shoot spazziness gets
infectious and contaminates the whole offense, although I would not put
the blame directly on him. I say keep developing Walter McCarty, the
poor man's Vin Baker/Kevin Garnett. He must be the quickest 6-11 human
being on the planet, he loves the Celtics system and he never said word
one in frustration about coming last off the bench. Plus our Celtics
need a "Mick" on the team (smiley).

I turned from skeptical about the Chris Mills trade to loving Walter
when he was asked late in the preseason (by either May or Holley) if he
ever runs out of energy, and he matter-of-factly replied: "tired is a
state of mind, man". Can you not love that quote!? "Tired is a state of
mind, man!" That blows my mind... I've actually tried that line on
myself when I'm jogging in the park....it doesn't help.

I guess my lunch hour is over so back to work...
