Dr. J and arrogance

If you will check the original quote, he did not say great players need
arrogance and swagger to be great, he said great teams need a player with
arrogance and swagger. Rodman did it for the Bulls, Pistons and Spurs; Larry
did it for the Celts; Magic and Jabbar did it for the Lakers. Though I would
not put Dr. J in that group, i would put both Moses Malone and Bobby Jones
in that category.

Great teams need someone who makes everyone else confident and energized by
knowing in their hearts that they can't be beat. Whether you like it or not,
Antoine does that for this team. I do disagree with hart about the mercer
comment. My point has always been that if Walker plays more vconfident by

But I guess maybe most people on this list want a bunch of do gooders to
play for the Celtics. I for one don't. All the great teams in my memory all
had
players that showed an arrogance and confidence while playing. Think
about it, that is what builds champion teams. Now we have people who
want to let Antoine leave to another team using phony statistics as an
excuse, but in reality do not like his attitude and personality.

I brought up Erving and I will not apologize for it. It revolved around
great players having a large degree of arrogance in oder to be successful,
NOT JUST SECOND YEAR PLAYERS! I mentioned the Doc as a player who was
successful without being arrogant IMO.
