Sources close to the Celtics say that the team will offer Matt Geiger
$7 million a year to leave Charlotte. That's probably more than the
Hornets can afford, especially if the cap gets harder.


But that's next year's problem for the Hornets. The one that requires
immediate attention is Anthony Mason.


Mason and Co. were flying high, winning 14 of 15, making eyes at the
Pacers' No. 2 spot in the Central when the loud-mouthed forward
starting complaining again about his limited role in the offense.


Charlotte lost the next two by 37 and 15 points. In fact, one
Charlotte loss almost always follows another. They dropped 20 of their
26 setbacks in pairs.
