RE: Theo Ratliff

No kidding. This is from an Australian publication that came out last week:
"The sixers may have a problem of their own with Ratliff. Word is, Rick
Pitino desperately wants him in Boston next season. Pitino's uptempo style
of play lacks one thing: a defensive stopper in the middle. "Other than
signing Antoine Walker, getting a defensive prescence like Theo is Boston's
number one priority," one league official said.

He wont come cheap though, I remember reading somewhere that he asked the
Pistons last year for 18 million for only 3 or 4 seasons, and he did
nothing in his first 2 years.

I was at the Philly game yesterday and was very impressed with the play of
Theo Ratliff. He was all over the floor both on offense and defense. He
plays a very tall 610"and can really sky. He might be the guy to take a
serious look at during the off season. Ratliff is 13th in the league in
FG%. He could make a living in the low post with Anderson running the show.
On the defensive side he would protect the middle on the press as he is 4th
in the league in shot blocking % and second in the league in total shots
blocked with 219 trailing only the finger waving Mutombo who has rung up
233. He sure as hell will come a lot cheaper than Austin or Geiger.
