Bowen in, Edney out

Maybe I missed it under the mountain of labor relations messages, but it
seems no one posted this actual Celtics roster news from the Associated
Press:

BOSTON -- The Boston Celtics announced Tuesday they would keep swingman
Bruce Bowen but would let go point guard Tyus Edney.

Bowen, a 6-foot-7, 200-pound guard/forward, came to the Celtics last season
from the Miami Heat. Before that, the 27-year-old played professionally in
France and in the Continental Basketball Association.

Last season he played in 61 games, averaging 5.6 points and 2.9 rebounds.

The Celtics decided to exercise a contract option that keeps Bowen playing
with the team for another year.

The team declined to exercise that same option for the 5-10 Edney.

Edney, 25, averaged 5.3 points and 2.7 assists in 52 games with the Celtics
last season. He came to Boston in August after two seasons with the
Sacramento Kings.
