Hi All Celtic Fans -
  I just subscribed to this list because I am a huge Paul Pierce fan and 
I wanted to get the skinny from the true Boston fans as to your thoughts
about getting Paul.  To let you know, I am a KU grad and have followed
KU basketball faithfully since 1978.  I live in Lawrence and so get the
local media scoop about the team on a pretty consistent basis.
  You are going to love having Pierce on your team.  He is a great
scorer
and team player and great person...Coach Williams sees to that.  I was
shocked when I saw he had dropped to #10 in the draft.  It is really a
mystery here in Lawrence, as he has supposedly been kicking tail in
pickup games in LA and had some great workouts with teams before the
draft.  The news today is that supposedly some GMs were miffed at Paul
and
his agent for not working out for them and may have slighted him for
spite....too bad for them...great for the Celtics.  
  In the 3 years I've watch Paul play, the only knock is that
occassionally
he goes into a funk and will disappear during the game.  I'll emphasize
the word occasionally for this.  However, then he'll get p****ed and
take
over.  I don't know how many times last year there were games when he 
just was unstoppable.  And it seems he is pretty upset with what
happened in
the draft...he's not upset about going to Boston...he is very happy
about
that, but he feels he got snubbed by some other teams and has vowed he
is
goint o prove them wrong...So, Celtic fans, it looks like one more piece
of the puzzle is in place....Now, if we could only get to see Celtic
games
here in Lawrence...this part of the country is an absolute void for NBA
coverage and, except for Bulls games, TV coverage is only carried by the
major networks.
  I'm happy for Paul and hope he can help bring the Celtics back to the
level of success that is so much a part of their history...
  One quick question....what has been the response from Red Auerbach?  I
haven't heard anything from him about this draft...
