Let Me Get This Straight

The Lakers offer us a much-valued, marketable young player for a
salary cap anchor that we literally couldn't give away, EVEN UP, and
we refused? There must be something I'm missing here. Rick was
trying to move Travis by tying him to our precious lottery pick (see
how important the Lottery is? I said it all along.) Van Exel is a
hell of a player, an all star, and could definitely get us some cap
relief or a better pick. LA must have wanted something else, I
guarantee it.

I really think one of these guys (Clark especially) could help us more
than that jackass Peter May says. We're going to be much, much better
with Kenny running the show, Popeye hauling down rebounds, and Clark
(I hope) blocking layups at the back of the press.

I really hope that deal with Dallas doesn't happen. ( I heard they
want our pick.) What do they have to offer us? Even if they take
some of our salary cap garbage, we only have a few more million to
spend. It's not like its going to make a real big difference in the
caliber of free agent we can get. When are we going to get a free
agent anyway?
